At the heart of the Samsung NV3 Digital Camera is a 7-megapixel digital still camera measuring a mere 3.7? x 2.2? x 0.7? with a 2.5-inch, high resolution LCD display. For outstanding image quality, the Samsung NV3 Digital Camera integrates a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 38-114 mm in 35 mm format) capability with Samsung's exclusive SHD lens technology. The NV3 also has Samsung's state-of-the-art Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) technology to combat hand shake and ensure crystal-clear images. It lets you take pictures in dimly lit situations without activating the electronic-flash. For entertainment on-the-go, you simply use the included Digimax Converter software to easily convert favorite MP3 files or watch your favorite video content on the large, 2.5-inch color display. "Pros: Great video quality, excellent picture quality, exceptional macro pictures, picks up quietest sounds, decent set of features and programming options.

Cons: Poor sound quality if you're anywhere near a speaker with moderately loud volumes. I've tried to record karaoke, and have found the mic is too sensitive for it, so you have to stand 20-30ft away & just zoom in if you want to pick up the vocals decently. In regards to camera features, I cannot get the mp3/document/media functions to work. I tried folowing the manual, instructions on their website, and googling for help. No matter what I did, those functions just won't work. Corrct folder setup (based on everything I read), and using the included pogram to convert files, it still does not find any of the files once they're on the SD card & in the camera.

Other Thoughts: I absolutely love Samsung NV3 Digital Camera. I was a little agitated the mp3/document/movie functions didn't work, because I wanted to use those while traveling, but that's okay because the most important things work great. When I first started using the camera, my pictures weren't that great...but once I learned where all of the camera options were hiding, and what each mode did, my picture quality improved a lot. I've used macro mode a ton, and the quality is amazing. I love adjusting the different timings to get nice looking photos in dark environments. The composite function is great for taking a panorama shot. And I love being able to take great quality videos on the fly (love that it's avi format). This camera goes with me everywhere, and it gets used often, the video function especially when we go barhopping with friends.

"Samsung NV3 Digital Camera is excellent! Quality of photos and features for the money are superb. It looks sleek and different. Works fast and smoothly. I bought a Kingston 2GB 120x speed card which I am sure helps with the speed of things.Large and clear screen very colourful when shooting in indoor or subdued lighting conditions. Outdoors, like basically all LCD screens, but at least I can work out what is in the image and shoot. I have only been successful so far with the AUTO white balance option. All the other alternatives seem to give me various colour casts.Higher ASA shooting is not overly recommended but I have shot decent images at 400 ASA which are in the more than acceptable range.I paid under $200 for this camera from B&H and this was a major factor in my purchase. I really wanted to buy the Canon SD700 or SD800 but the extra $100-$150 extra was hard for me to justify. I definitely feel that if you have the extra money then the Canon's are better as far as speed , quality of photos and useful additional features but as I said this Samsung for the money is terrific. Most of my images are spot on in focus. Occasionally it hunts before sharply focusing.I like very much that the shutter speed and aperture are shown on the screen even though one is shooting in Auto. Plus the slow synch. flash option makes fill light more natural. The lens, a non protruding type is very sharp edge to edge. The thinness of the body, stainless steel!..and lightness are perfect.I also like the two charging options either via the USB cable when plugged into the computer or with the AC adaptor which attaches to the same USB cable. So as I am downloading the photos the camera is recharging. This is important as I don't think that the small ion lithium battery supplied has a very long duration time, mainly due to the LCD having to stay on due to no optical viewfinder.Only three complaints. One, an optical viewfinder. Two, less noise in higher ASA. Three, longer lasting battery. Last but not least, the service from B&H was outstanding. Everything I ordered arrived in two days and in perfect condition. Well, why not! I have been buying from B&H for the last twenty years or so and for good reason.

"I bought Samsung NV3 Digital Camera specifically to take on motorcycle trips. It is small and is very easy to use. After using it, I began taking art type pictures of nature, flora, etc. The macro mode is very easy to use and the camera allows you to edit the photo within the camera. It is super. The only weak point is that sometimes you can accidentally get your finger in the picture because of the size. All in all, if you are looking for a great little digital camera that is super easy to use and even get creative with, take a look at this one. I have never used the mp3 player but I am sure it would be great as well."

"I use Samsung NV3 Digital Camera every day to shoot photos of small electronic parts and lables. Working in a warehouse that has lighting ranging from full sunlight to near darkness, I have been able to capture what I need every time. The autofocus locks in, even in near darkness to give a photo that I can massage into an excellent representation. I use Picassa from Google and have yet to be stymied on a project.

What I find amazing is the durability of the LCD screen. Although my enviournment is dirty and dusty, the screen does not have a single nick or scratch. I merely blow it off and periodicly wipe it clean with antistatic wipes that you use on a computer monitor.

Spent a weekend at a family retreat and had the same results, again in all kinds of lighting.

Overall, I find this to be a simple machine to run that produces an excellent image, even for the neophyte user."
